The review praised the author saying her writing style by saying that “everything seems to be in plain sight, but one can sense deeper truth hiding below the surface.” The review also called the book “slight in girth but not in depth.” Simon and Schuster will publish the book on January 7, 2014.

PURE JOY by Danielle Steel

PURE JOY by Danielle Steel is reviewed in the October 1, 2013 issue of Kirkus. The review says, “Plainly told with honesty and affection, these stories are an affirmation of the timeless connection between humans and their canine companions. For Steel’s fans and die-hard dog lovers.” Delacorte Press will publish PURE JOY on October 29, 2013.

SPEEDBOAT by Renata Adler

The reissue of SPEEDBOAT was reviewed in the October 4, 2013 issue of The Times Literary Supplement, which raves that SPEEDBOAT “feels as fresh today as it did almost four decades ago.” SPEEDBOAT was reissued by New York Review of Books classics on March 19, 2013.

Robert Hilburn's JOHNNY CASH: THE LIFE received a starred review in Publishers Weekly. The review calls Hilburn "A spellbinding storyteller." The book was also reviewed in the Oct/Nov issue of Garden & Gun which says that Hilburn “paint[s] the most thorough portrait yet of [Cash’s] life…Hilburn covers it all through seven hundred pages of intimate and startling detail.” Little Brown will publish the book on October 29, 2013.

THE TRIP TO ECHO SPRING by Olivia Laing

Olivia Laing’s THE TRIP TO ECHO SPRING was given a starred review in Publishers Weekly, which said, “The book’s heart is Laing’s astute analysis … The result is a fine study of a human frailty through the eyes of its most perceptive victims.” Picador will publish the book on December 24, 2013.

THE KEPT by James Scott

James Scott’s THE KEPT was given a starred review in Kirkus, which calls it, “[A] wrenching first novel" and says that "Scott is both compassionate moralist and master storyteller in this outstanding debut.” HarperCollins will publish the book on January 7, 2014.
