Ramona Ausubel’s A GUIDE TO BEING BORN was named one of the 10 Best Short Story Collections of 2013 by Flavorwire, which said, “A Guide to Being Born highlighted the author’s versatility soon after the publication of her great debut novel, 2012′s No One Is Here Except All of Us.” Riverhead published the book on May 2, 2013.

NPR named YOU by Austin Grossman one of the best books of 2013. In her recommendation, Annalee Newitz calls it “a stylistic exploration of videogame writing, offering us pages of object and character descriptons just as they would be written before being converted into the code of a game. But it's also a coming-of-age story about how we never leave our fantasies behind. They become more real, and more powerful, as we age.” Mulholland Books published the book April 16, 2013.

Publishers Weekly named MIDDLE C by William Gass one of the top ten novels of 2013 saying “Gass’s fine sentences belong in their own museum.” Knopf published the book March 12, 2013.

NPR named A DUKE NEVER YIELDS one of the year’s best books. In her recommendation Bobbi Dumas calls it a “mesmerizing tale of romance and self-realization around their journey to love.” The book was also named by Kirkus Reviews as one of the Best Romances of 2013. Berkley published the book February 5, 2013.

NPR, The Washington Post and The New Yorker all named MY EDUCATION by Susan Choi one of the best books of 2013. In her NPR recommendation, Meg Wolitzer called it “thrilling and edgy." THE WASHINGTON POST, says “What makes this witty story so delicious is Choi’s style, the unflagging force of her scrutiny.” Rebecca Mead in her recommendation in the New Yorker says “The book surprised and thrilled me.” Viking published the book on July 3, 2013.

Kirkus Reviews named QUIET DELL as the Best Historical Fiction of 2013. Simon & Schuster published the book on October 15, 2013.
