DEMON CAMP by Jennifer Percy

Jennifer Percy was interviewed about DEMON CAMP in The Atlantic and in the Los Angeles Times, who said, “[Percy] shines a bright light on America's wounded psyche… Percy's beautiful, lucid writing takes the reader into the lives of soldiers wrestling with faith in this often harrowing book on the personal, cultural, and political costs of war.” In The Atlantic, Percy discusses the genre of immersion journalism and how “Stories—invented, reported—better capture the full, complex reality of human beings and our surrounding universe.” Scribner published the book January 14, 2014.

Tania Unsworth’s THE ONE SAFE PLACE received a starred review in Kirkus Reviews. The review calls it “a chilling and engrossing tale” and says it is “a standout in the genre’s [dystopian YA] crowded landscape.” Algonquin will publish the book April 29, 2014.

THE KEPT was reviewed in The Boston Globe and The Washington Post, and Scott was interviewed by Robin Young, who called it “a stunning debut novel,” on the WBUR/NPR show “Here & Now.” The Washington Post said, “Scott’s prose is impressively informed by a powerful concoction of American fundamentalism spiked with the fervent belief in an eye-for-eye…The Kept is laden with shrewd, arresting images.” The Boston Globe called it a “genre-busting work…as brutal and austere as it is revelatory." Picador published the book on December 24, 2013.

FRANCES AND BERNARD by Carlene Bauer

FRANCES AND BERNARD was featured by Rene Steinke in the BookForum article “Flannery O'Connor, Faith, and Fiction." She says “this epistolary novel gathers power and momentum as the correspondence between the characters..becomes more fraught…Bauer does an amazing job of dramatizing the journey of this friendship, each voice a convincingly particular evocation of a literary and religious imagination.” Houghton Mifflin Harcourt published the book February 5, 2013.

A WELL-TEMPERED HEART by Jan-Philipp Sendker

Jan-Philipp Sendker’s A WELL-TEMPERED HEART is an Amazon Editor’s top pick for Best Book of the Month (Literature & Fiction). It was also reviewed by RT Book Reviews, which called it “incredibly beautiful and moving,” and The Book Addict, which called it “rewarding.” Other Press will publish the book on January 21, 2014.

Josh Weil’s THE GREAT GLASS SEA was featured in the Library Journal’s Fiction Preview. Grove Atlantic will publish the book in July 2014.
