THE WRIGHT BROTHERS by David McCullough

HBO and Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman have acquired the rights to David McCullough’s book about Wilbur and Orville Wright. This is the second time HBO and Playtone have teamed up to produce a miniseries based on Mr. McCullough’s work; the first being the Golden Globe and Emmy-winning JOHN ADAMS starring Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney. Simon & Schuster will publish the book on May 5, 2015.

Elliot Ackerman was on PBS with Tavis Smiley discussing GREEN ON BLUE, which is inspired by his own experiences in Afghanistan, and is told from the perspective of a young Afghan orphan. Scribner published the book on February 17, 2015.

THE WHITES by Richard Price writing as Harry Brandt

David Simon, the creator of the HBO series THE WIRE, recently interviewed Richard Price at the 92nd Street Y and a condensed and edited version of the interview was published by Guernica Magazine. Henry Holt published, THE WHITES, Price’s recent novel (writing as Harry Brandt) on February 17th, 2015.
