EVERYBODY by Olivia Laing was longlisted for The Rathbones Folio 2022 Prize. The prize “celebrates the best literary talent from the UK and around the world,” and “is also known as the ‘writer’s prize’ – the only major literary award for which all the books in contention are selected and judged by an academy of peers.” W. W. Norton & Company published the book on May 4, 2021.
Sarah Manguso was announced as the winner of the 2022 Arts and Letters Awards in Literature by The American Academy of Arts and Letters. The prize honors “exceptional accomplishment in any genre.” The awards will be presented at the Academy’s annual Ceremonial in May. Hogarth published Manguso’s debut novel VERY COLD PEOPLE on February 8, 2022.
The audiobook of Dawnie Walton’s debut THE FINAL REVIVAL OF OPAL & NEV is the winner of the 2022 Audie Award for Fiction. The winners were announced via the 2022 Audie Awards program on March 4. The book was also longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction 2022, which aims to “empower all women to raise their voice and own their story, shining a spotlight on outstanding and ambitious fiction by women from anywhere in the world, regardless of their age, race, nationality or background.” The shortlist for the award will be announced on April 27, and the winner will be announced on June 15. 37 Ink published THE FINAL REVIVAL OF OPAL & NEV on March 30 2021.
THE ONES WHO DON’T SAY THEY LOVE YOU was longlisted for the 2021 The Story Prize award, Bookshop.org’s annual award for book-length short story collections. One World published the book on August 17, 2021.
LONG DIVISION by Kiese Laymon is winner of the 53rd NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work - Fiction. In his acceptance speech, Laymon said: “Black writers do not say this out loud enough, but this award is the award that most of us dream of being nominated for if we’re lucky enough to win.” Scribner published the novel on June 1, 2021.

The award “celebrates quality, innovation, and ambition of writing, and is open to books first published in the previous year in the UK, Ireland, or the Commonwealth.” The shortlist for the award will be announced in April, and the winner will be announced in June via the Borders Book Festival in Melrose, Scotland.
