MY EDUCATION by Susan Choi

Susan Choi’s MY EDUCATION received a starred review in the May 1 issue of Library Journal: “As with her previous novels, Choi’s talent resides in her densely layered prose and her slowing down the pace to draw readers into the inner worlds of her characters. THE RIVER OF NO RETURN’s Bee Ridgway was interviewed in USA Today. In the fascinating article she discusses her writing processes and the importance (or lack thereof) of genres. Ridgway, the article praises, “blends several genres — historical fiction, romance and fantasy — into her debut novel, The River of No Return, and makes them play well with each other.” Dutton published the book April 23, 2013.

David Shields was interviewed in The Believer magazine, which asked him about the creative and critical influences behind HOW LITERATURE SAVED MY LIFE.” Knopf published the book February 5, 2013.

SIDNEY SHELDON’S THE TIDES OF MEMORY by Tilly Bagshawe

Tilly Bagshawe’s SIDNEY SHELDON’S THE TIDES OF MEMORY received great reviews from Bob Walch of Bookloons.com, saying, “Plenty of twists and surprises are in store for the reader as this beguiling tale unfolds,” and Night Owl Reviews, which raves that the book “will sweep the reader along on a whirlwind ride and that “this book will leave readers begging for more.” William Morrow published the book April 9, 2013.

MIDDLE C by William Gass was featured with an in-depth review in the Times Literary Supplement: “[Gass’s sentences] draw attention to themselves with quite fabulous turns of syntax and prodigious flowerings of assonance and alliteration.” Knopf published the book on March 12, 2013.

Austin Grossman’s novel has been made an iTunes editor’s choice for the week of April 14, 2013. Grantland has also named YOU as one its April Picks. Mulholland Books published the book April 16, 2013.

Ramona Ausubel’s A GUIDE TO BEING BORN was favorably reviewed in Booklist and Flavorwire, which called the book a “luminous collection.” Booklist raved, “Ausubel is a master stylist of vibrant, concise prose, and these stories, with love most often at their core, can be appreciated for that alone.” Riverhead will publish the book May 2, 2013.

MIDDLE MEN by Jim Gavin

Jim Gavin’s MIDDLE MEN was favorably reviewed in the “Briefly Noted” section of The New Yorker, which raved, “Gavin’s peppery prose unspools the plight of his characters – from good but not good enough basketball stars to toilet salesmen – with poignancy and not a trace of sentimentality.” Simon & Schuster published the book in February 19, 2013.

NORWEGIAN BY NIGHT by Derek B. Miller

Derek B. Miller’s NORWEGIAN BY NIGHT was reviewed positively in a feature article in Shelf Awareness, which declared: “Complex, layered and utterly original, debut novelist Derek B. Miller's Norwegian by Night is one of the most surprising and unusual novels to emerge in recent years…Thought-provoking, evocative, and wry in the best way, [this] is a remarkable novel.” The author was also interviewed in the magazine. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt will publish the book May 21, 2013.
