Laura Kipnis’ MEN: AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION was reviewed in the New York Times Book Review, saying: “Witty and dexterous prose…consistently and quietly funny… Kipnis’ coolheaded, ironical assessments of modern masculinity read like perfectly-timed eyerolls.” Metropolitan published the book on November 18.

Over at Kirkus Books, John DeNardo has included THE HEART DOES NOT GROW BACK at the top of a list of superhero stories that will “leap to the top of your reading pile in a single bound.” Picador published the book on November 4, 2014.

Richard Rhodes’ HELL AND GOOD COMPANY: THE SPANISH CIVIL WAR AND THE WORLD IT MADE received a starred review in Booklist, which praised the book for “so graphically allowing contemporary readers to appreciate all the nuances of what transpired in Spain in those dark years” through the eyes of reporters, writers, artists, doctors, and nurses who witnessed it. Simon & Schuster will publish the book on February 3, 2015.

The Daily Beast said of Malcolm Brooks’s “beautifully written narrative,” that it “fulfills fiction’s workaday imperatives: human drama, character development, a suspenseful plot fueled by clashing world views, each granted articulate advocates by a fair, but not impartial author” which are “expertly embedded” with deeper themes. Grove Atlantic published the novel on August 5, 2014.

Booklist said of Nick Cutter’s latest thriller, “between the descriptive hallucinations and the very real threats, readers may find themselves begging for a
respite—or cheering for more of the same.” Gallery will publish the book on January 13, 2015.

Christian Science Monitor said of THE ACCIDENTAL HIGHWAYMAN, “[Ben Tripp’s] finesse turns an audacious idea into a balanced, delightful tale that I can’t recommend highly enough.” Tor Teen published the book on October 14th, 2014.

Shelly Oria’s NEW YORK 1, TEL AVIV 0 was reviewed in Flavorwire, Bustle, and is Time Out New York Editor’s Pick as well as Recommended Reading in Electric Literature. Time Out called it “one of the year's phenomenal debut books,” while Sarah Seltzer, Flavorwire’s Editor-at-Large called it “the most engaging collection of short stories I’ve read in a long time. It sings from the first page.” The author was also recently interviewed on the Daily, the blog of THE PARIS REVIEW. FSG published the book on November 4, 2014.
