Following the publication of FIGHT LIKE HELL, Kim Kelly was interviewed by various national and regional media outlets, including The Atlantic, The Hill, Alabama’s Valley Labor Report, The Progressive, and Wisconsin’s community radio station, WORT 89.9, as well as Queer Eye star Jonathan van Ness for his podcast, Getting Curious. For SPIN Magazine, Kelly discussed making a name for herself first as a music journalist covering the metal scene and now as a labor reporter covering activist and union movements across the country: “The union was my favorite band…I was spending more time at union meetings than at metal shows. I was learning more about the labor movement, the ins and outs of labor law, and seeing the way that exploitation, inequities and these historic wrongs still impact so many workers today. I was rapidly realizing I’d gone from being a metal journalist with a political view to a political journalist who was really into heavy metal.” One Signal Publishers published FIGHT LIKE HELL on April 26, 2022.
The Los Angeles Times interviewed Colleen Kinder, whose LETTER TO A STRANGER was their May book club pick, praising the “powerful” stories’ potential to “transport you around the world”: “In a season when many pandemic-weary humans are daring to travel again, or at least dreaming of long-delayed adventures, a new book of essays reminds us of the wondrous ways serendipity can strike when we leave familiar surroundings behind.” Algonquin Books published the book on March 22, 2022.
Laura Warrell’s SWEET, SOFT, PLENTY RHYTHM received a starred, rave review from Library Journal. Jordan Castro’s THE NOVELIST received a rave review from Brooklyn Rail. Reviewer Scott Cheshire hails the novel as “[c]ompact, brilliant, and very funny,” adding: “Castro has committed the unlikely act of attending to his art while including its corruption, a tradition all its own, thus making it all the more contemporary and comedic." The book was also featured as one of Vulture’s “17 Books We Can’t Wait to Read This Summer.” Soft Skull published the book on June 14, 2022.

I am eager and just the right amount of nervous about getting this one right.” Harper published VANDERBILT on September 21, 2021.
HOW YOU GET FAMOUS by Nicole Pasulka received a rave review from Alexander Chee in The New York Times. He deems the book “[f]unny, poignant, dishy and even enlightening, all at the same time,” adding: “HOW YOU GET FAMOUS isn’t just the story of a niche nightclub scene in Brooklyn — it’s the story of America now.” The book was also featured on Mother Jones’ summer roundup alongside acclaim for Pasulka’s writing, which Maddie Oatman praises as “dripping in plush detail and drama and just enough historical asides.” Simon & Schuster published the book on June 7, 2022.
David Dennis, Jr., author of the newly released THE MOVEMENT MADE US, published an Op-Ed in The New York Times titled “Civil Rights Activists Fought for America’s Democracy. They Should Be Honored as Veterans.” “This may sound like hyperbolic or dramatic rhetoric. It’s not. The war they fought was literal,” Dennis, Jr. writes. “My dad was in a church in Shreveport, La., when it was bombed. He went to meetings attended by spies who delivered intelligence to government agencies. He was beaten. He was imprisoned. His friends were tortured. Some of his friends — Medgar Evers, James Chaney, Andrew Goodman and Mickey Schwerner among them — were assassinated…As we consider what kind of reparations and redress are necessary, granting those veterans the government benefits that other war heroes are entitled to would be one small, important step in the right direction.” Harper published THE MOVEMENT MADE US on May 10, 2022.
Leïla Slimani, winner of France’s Goncourt Prize, included THE MARGOT AFFAIR by Sanaë Lemoine in a roundup of Parisian book recommendations for The New York Times. THE FIFTH ACT by Elliot Ackerman received its first trade starred-review from Kirkus. The reviewer raves: “Making sense of chaos is never easy, but this powerful book does much to explain why America’s debacle in Afghanistan ended the way it did…Ackerman should be commended not just for his work helping Afghans escape safely, but also for providing a must-read account of the end of America’s longest war…Courage and folly, dedication and tragedy: Ackerman deftly captures all dimensions of a protracted foreign policy failure. Penguin Press will publish the book on August 9, 2022.
