Alex Van Halen joined Anderson Cooper on his All There Is podcast for “an emotional, and musically rich interview [where] Alex talks about Eddie’s life and death and the communication he feels he still has with him.” BROTHERS was included on The New York Post’s guide for the “best books to gift to the readers in your life this Christmas.” Harper published the book on October 22, 2024.

Joseph Earl Thomas was awarded the 2024 First Novel Prize for GOD BLESS YOU OTIS SPUNKMEYER at The Center for Fiction Annual Awards Benefit on December 10. The awarded is annually presented to the best debut novel of the year, with a $15,000 prize “in recognition of their contribution to the contemporary literary canon and in support of their ongoing creative career.” The book was selected by a panel of distinguished writers, including Merve Emre, Raven Leilani, Jonathan Lethem, and Tyriek White. Grand Central Publishing published the novel on June 18, 2024.
Variety included A FEW WORDS IN DEFENSE OF OUR COUNTRY on their "Best Music Books of 2024" list. Variety Chief Music Critic writes: "[T]he case for Newman as popular music’s greatest social commentators is the one being pressed most of all by former L.A. Times rock critic Hilburn in his latest biography (following his excellent Paul Simon tome)...Through interviews with Newman’s friends and family as well as the man, Hilburn gets at all the psychology we need while respecting that genius is sometimes its own motivation." Hachette Books published the book on October 22, 2024.
Sarah Manguso’s LIARS has been longlisted for the 2025 Joyce Carol Oates Prize. The prize annually honors a mid-career fiction writer whose work speaks to the mission and vision of New Literary Project. This prize is awarded not in recognition of a book, but for an author: an already emerged and still emerging author of national consequence—short stories and/or novels—at the relatively middle stage of a burgeoning career. The winner receives a $50,000 award to encourage and support forthcoming work. Finalists are expected to be named in March 2025, and the winner in April 2025. Hogarth published LIARS on July 23, 2024.
Danielle Steel’s latest novel, TRIAL BY FIRE, debuted on The New York Times Bestsellers list for the week of December 8, 2024, appearing at #9 on Hardcover Fiction and #10 on Combined Print and E-Book Fiction. Delacorte Press published the book on November 19, 2024.
