TO EXPLAIN THE WORLD: The Discovery of Modern Science by Nobel Prize winning physicist Steven Weinberg was listed by the Guardian in their essential literary calendar for 2015. Harper Collins will publish the book on February 10, 2015.
MTV has announced casting news for their upcoming SHANNARA series, based on the popular fantasy series by Terry Brooks. Austin Butler (The Carrie Diaries) will star as Wil Ohmsford, a half-elf and last of the magical Shannara family; Manu Bennett (Arrow) will play the druid Allanon; and Ivana Baquero (Pan’s Labyrinth) will play Eretria.
Stephen Marche’s debut novel THE HUNGER OF THE WOLF was reviewed in Publishers Weekly, saying, “The nature of family bonds and wealth are at the heart of this spellbinding tale from Marche…No word is out of place in this taut multigenerational tale, which takes some enjoyable supernatural turns.” Simon & Schuster will publish the book in February, 3 2015.
Ted Thompson’s THE LAND OF STEADY HABITS was featured in end of year roundups in the San Francisco Chronicle, Slate and the Barnes & Noble review. In the San Francisco Chronicle’s roundup of “Writer’s Favorite Books of 2014”, the author Will Boast called the book “A sly, painstaking portrait of an unraveling marriage and a crumbling culture.”
Matt Parker was on Brian Lehrer to discuss his book THINGS TO MAKE AND DO IN THE FOURTH DIMENSION, and Slate has excerpted the optimal dating algorithms chapter. FSG published the book on December 2, 2014.

Over at Kirkus Books, John DeNardo has included THE HEART DOES NOT GROW BACK at the top of a list of superhero stories that will “leap to the top of your reading pile in a single bound.” Picador published the book on November 4, 2014.
