WIVES LIKE US by Plum Sykes was featured on Vogue's list of "The Best Books of 2024 So far." Senior Editor Chloe Schama writes: "Sykes sets the modern-day measures of social influence (Instagram followers, bikini line start-ups, glam teams at one’s beck and call) against the traditional Cotswold landscape of manor houses and horse stables, and the result is a delightful mash-up: a loving portrait of a social milieu that recognizes the value of tradition but is also perpetually chasing what’s new." Sykes revealed the book's cover on her Instagram, along with a reel that is "a peek into the world of the #WivesLiekUs." Harper will publish the book on May 14, 2024.
Anticipation is building for Rachel Khong’s forthcoming REAL AMERICANS four months ahead of its US publication. The novel has graced most anticipated lists from The Washington Post, Time, Good Housekeeping, Electric Literature, Oprah Daily, Vulture, Kirkus, and more. A starred review from Kirkus praises: “[The] concern for how and why we turn out the way we do animates [REAL AMERICANS] on every level, and along with science, social constructs like race and class play major roles. Every character is dear, and every one of them makes big mistakes, causing a ripple effect of anger and estrangement that we watch with dismay, and hope. Bold, thoughtful, and delicate at once, addressing life’s biggest questions through artfully crafted scenes and characters.” Meanwhile, the book was selected as the May pick for Roxane Gay’s Audacious Book Club, and was selected as one of a handful of Gwenyth Paltrow’s personal most-anticipated reads in her Goop newsletter. Knopf will publish REAL AMERICANS on April 30, 2024.

Once my initial elation and disbelief had worn off, I felt a great weight lift from my shoulders. Even amidst the huge life changes coming my way, the NEA Literature Fellowship will give me financial security, sustained time to focus on my novel-in-progress, and the freedom to immerse myself in the work I love. I am so grateful for this support, this vote of confidence. What an honor. What a tremendous gift.” Ballantine published Angress’ novel SIRENS & MUSES on July 12, 2022.
