The AV Club named THIS IS HOW YOU DIE as one of their favorite books of the year in the category of “Reviewed Favorites” saying in their write-up that “Some of the stories are funny, some are odd, and some are brilliant, but they’re all deceptively smart about exploring all the ways individuals come to terms with death.” Grand Central published the book on July 16, 2013.

The Washington Post named SPARTA one of the 50 notable fiction books of the year saying that “Robinson dramatizes how we fail our veterans without reducing her story to a polemic, expertly deploying emotional insight, moral nuance and intellectual depth..” Sarah Crichton Books published the book June 4, 2013.

The Financial Times named CREATION by Adam Rutherford one of the Best Science Books of 2013. Penguin published the book June 13, 2013.

The Washington Post named THE RIVER OF NO RETURN one of the 50 notable fiction books of the year calling it “an intrigue spanning centuries.” Dutton published the book April 23, 2013.

NPR and Publisher’s Weekly named Robert Hilburn’s, JOHNNY CASH as one of the best books of 2013. The book also received a positive review in The New York Times. The review called it “a thorough and thoughtful portrait of the Man in Black and a deep appreciation of his artistry" The review also says that "Hilburn writes most powerfully about Cash’s trajectory as an artist.” Little, Brown and Company published the book October 29, 2013.

LEXICON, Max Barry’s fast paced novel about words as weapons has earned spots on the Time Magazine, Kirkus and NPR lists of the best fiction for 2013. Penguin Press published the book June 18, 2013.

Rachel Aviv feature article “Where Is Your Mother?” was recently published in the New Yorker. The article about caseworkers, custody trials, and foster care in the United States Social Services system was published in the December 2, 2013 issue.

Derek B. Miller’s NORWEGIAN BY NIGHT was named one of the Financial Times’ “Best Crime Novels of the Year.” The Financial Times called it “richly written.” Houghton Mifflin Harcourt published the book May 21, 2013.

Kevin Fong’s EXTREME MEDICINE received a starred review in Kirkus, which called it “a medical thriller of the first order.” The book was also positively reviewed by Publisher’s Weekly, which calls it “gripping” and “eloquent.” Penguin Press will publish the book on February 10, 2014.
