John Branch

The Pulitzer Prize in Feature Writing went to John Branch of the New York Times for "Snow Fall: The Avalanche at Tunnel Creek", his work on skiers killed in an avalanche. Branch is now at work on a book based on another New York Times series, which was a 2012 Pulitzer Prize finalist, on hockey player Derek Boogaard and his brain condition. The book was sold at auction to W.W. Norton.

ELDERS by Ryan McIlvain

Author Ryan McIlvain joined NPR Fresh Air's Terry Gross to discuss his novel ELDERS. Hogarth published the book March 5, 2013.

BACK TO BLOOD by Tom Wolfe

Tom Wolfe’s BACK TO BLOOD has reached the #3 spot on the Express bestsellers list in France. Little Brown published the book October 23, 2012.

Robert Caro is interviewed on his multi-volume biography of Lyndon B. Johnson in The Christian Science Monitor’s “Chapter & Verse” blog: “Robert Caro likes to say that he isn’t writing about Lyndon Johnson’s life. Instead, the 36th president’s tireless biographer says, he uses LBJ as a focal point to explore the use of power in the American political system.” Knopf published the fourth volume of the series, THE PASSAGE OF POWER May 1, 2012.
