Lauren Groff reviewed FRESH COMPLAINT in the New York Times Book Review. She says: “Eugenides has always been a sharp and exacting writer, and nearly every one of the stories in this collection is teachable, a model of its own kind of Swiss-clock craftsmanship.”
The book was also reviewed by Dwight Garner in the daily New York Times who calls Eugenides “a consistently perceptive writer, so much so that when you put this book down it’s like leaving one of those movies that Windex-freshens the panes of your mind.” Farrar Straus & Giroux published the book on October 3, 2017.
