Madeline represents literary and upmarket fiction and select narrative nonfiction and memoir. She’s drawn to beautiful writing, propulsive plot, and dynamic characters. She loves literary mysteries and thrillers, multigenerational family stories, smart coming-of-age narratives, and grounded speculative elements used to elevate a plot. She’s particularly drawn to rural settings and doesn’t shy away from a gritty character. Some of her favorite authors include Donna Tartt, Jhumpa Lahiri, Liz Moore, Lily King, Ruth Ozeki, Addie Citchens, and Janelle Brown.
