HIGH STAKES, Danielle Steel’s latest novel, will make its debut on the New York Times Bestseller list for the week of March 27, 2022. It will debut at number 4 on the Combined Print & E-book Fiction list and number 4 on the Hardcover Fiction list. Delacorte Press published the book on March 8, 2022.
The New Yorker ran an excerpt from Samantha Hunt’s forthcoming THE UNWRITTEN BOOK, as a piece titled “Ghosts at the Liquor Store.” was featured in the New Yorker’s ‘Personal History’ digital segment. Farrar, Straus and Giroux will publish the book on April 5, 2022.
Esquire Magazine included Ted Chiang’s story collection EXHALATION on their list of "The 50 Best Sci-Fi Books of All Time," praising: “In this stellar collection of short stories, one of the most award-winning science fiction writers of our time tees up nine brilliant tales of time travel, artificial intelligence, and alternate universes...Through lean, thought-provoking prose, Chiang renders stories about man and machines deeply felt—and deeply human.” Knopf first published the book on May 7, 2019.
Oprah Daily shared an exclusive cover reveal for Namwali Serpell’s forthcoming novel, THE FURROWS, alongside a rave review. They describe Serpell’s voice as “distinctly her own: lyrical, daring, assured,” adding: “THE FURROWS” [is] enthralling…Serpell disrupts our expectations, over and over…[blurring] the line between our dreams and our waking lives.” Hogarth will publish the novel on September 27, 2022.
Poets.org selected Rio Cortez’s poem “Black Lead in a Nancy Meyers Film” from her forthcoming collection GOLDEN AX as their poem of the day on March 22. Penguin Books will publish the book on August 30, 2022.
Publishers Weekly reviewed Carlene Bauer’s forthcoming debut novel, GIRLS THEY WRITE SONGS ABOUT. The reviewer praises the book as “appealing,” adding: “Bauer has a talent for exacting language, particularly when describing the characters’ attempts at navigating an era in which it feels like feminism is over...[T]his makes for a charming time capsule.” Farrar, Straus, and Giroux will publish the book on June 21, 2022.
THE PROPHETS by Robert Jones, Jr. is a finalist for The Publishing Triangle’s Edmund White Award for Debut Fiction. The award “celebrates the future of LGBTQ literature by awarding a prize to an outstanding first novel or story collection.” Winners will be announced via a virtual ceremony on May 11. G.P. Putnam’s Sons published the book on January 5, 2021.
CHINA ROOM by Sunjeev Sahota was shortlisted for The Rathbones Folio 2022 Prize. The prize “celebrates the best literary talent from the UK and around the world,” and “is also known as the ‘writer’s prize’ – the only major literary award for which all the books in contention are selected and judged by an academy of peers.” Viking published the novel on July 13, 2021.

FINDING ASHLEY debuted at number 1 on the New York Times monthly mass-market bestseller list for the month of March 2022. Dell released the mass-market edition of FINDING ASHLEY on January 25, 2022.
Sarah Manguso was announced as the winner of the 2022 Arts and Letters Awards in Literature by The American Academy of Arts and Letters. The prize honors “exceptional accomplishment in any genre.” The awards will be presented at the Academy’s annual Ceremonial in May. Hogarth published Manguso’s debut novel VERY COLD PEOPLE on February 8, 2022.
Lucy Cooke’s latest book received a rave review in The Guardian, which calls it “A bold and gripping takedown of the sexist mythology baked into biology… Bitch is so full of marvellous surprises about sex roles that I sensed Cooke herself was transformed in its writing.” Basic Books will publish the book in the US on June 14, 2022.
